The Trademarks Team is lead by Brian Conroy, a registered EU Trademark Agent practicing with Rennick Solicitors and Trademark Agents, based in Dublin, Ireland.
Brian trained with McCann FitzGerald Solicitors in Dublin, before working for the Denis O’Brien owned Communicorp Group for 6 years. Brian now heads up the IP and Commercial Litigation department in Rennick Solicitiors and specialises in Trademark Registration and Litigation, Intellectual Property Disputes and Media Law.

Brian A Rennick – B.A., LL.B Principal Solicitor
Brian has been a commercial solicitor for over 20 years. During this time, Brian has built a commercial law focused legal practice initially intending to service SME commercial interests.
The practice has provided a full range of legal services to its commercial Clients from start-up through to mergers /sale, and has also acted in the acquisition of businesses and Companies. Under Brian’s stewardship the Practice has built and maintained strong relationships with its Clients key to which is Brian’s trusted and common sense approach to business.
Brian Foley – Commercial Solicitor
Brian Foley trained and worked with one of Ireland’s best known litigation practices, Ivor Fitzpatrick & Company, before joining the corporate department of Eversheds solicitors.
Brian provides corporate and commercial advice to clients operating in the tech, logistics, agri business and waste management industries. He advises clients at all stages of the commercial life cycle from start-up through growth and consolidation through exit.
Brian specialises in advising on data Protection issues, agreements and model contracts and also deals with a wide variety of e-commerce and intellectual property issues. He advises on equity investments, shareholders’ agreements, distribution, franchising and other commercial contracts, and M&A work / corporate sales. His experience and insight are frequently called upon by clients in relation to commercial disputes and high court litigation.
Anne O’Sullivan – B. Sc. (mgmt) Solicitor
Anne has been a property solicitor for both commercial and private clients for over 15 years. During this time, Anne has led our property department in many areas, including Acquisition of lands and sites for development, Purchase of Professional Practices e.g. Dental & Medical Practices, Acquisition of high value properties for High Worth Private Clients. She has also established herself in the areas of Wills, Trusts and Probate. Anne has the ability to analyse issues thoroughly and quickly and make effective decisions.
Mary. E Flanagan – R.T.M.A., Dip EU Law, Dip IT Law, Mediator (Harvard Negotiation Institute)
Mary Flanagan has over 20 years experience in litigation. She qualified in 1998 and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and IT committee. Mary is an Accredited Mediator from Harvard Negotiation Institute in Boston since 2012. She holds numerous qualifications in EU, IT and International Law. Mary has established herself as a leading litigation practitioner, having spent her entire career to date in the field of litigation.
Brian Conroy LL.B – Trademark Agent, Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation Solicitor
Brian Conroy trained and qualified with McCann FitzGerald Solicitors in Dublin, where he specialised in corporate and commercial litigation. He subsequently worked in the media industry for 6 years as part of the programming team in the Communicorp Group, whose stable of radio stations includes Newstalk and Today FM. Whilst a specialist commercial litigator Brian has a particular interest in media (including social media) and intellectual property law and has professional qualifications in Data Protection Practice and Digital Marketing assisting start-up companies in these areas protect their intellectual property assets. He also has broad contract, corporate and legislative drafting experience.
Elaine McDonald LL.B – Licencing & Employment Solicitor
Elaine advises on a broad range of legal issues but specialises in liquor licensing, employment law and personal injuries. She has extensive experience in liquor licensing and is currently acting for one of Ireland’s largest forecourt companies in acquiring various liquor licences throughout the country. Elaine regularly represents employers and employees in employment disputes before the Workplace Relations Commission. She also holds a Diploma in In-House Practice awarded by the Law Society of Ireland.
Brendan Kelly MBA LLM CSci FIFST – Solicitor & Food Technologist
Brendan is a food technologist and solicitor with over twenty years experience in the Irish, UK, and European food industry. He is a Fellow Institute of Food Science and Technology UK (FIFST) and a Chartered Scientist (CSci), with a Master Degree in Business Administration (University of Warwick) and a Masters Degree in Law (Nottingham Trent University).
For much of his career Brendan worked with The Coca-Cola Company; developing and auditing their global ingredient suppliers. During this period he project managed a range of commercial and technical work with some of Europe’s leading food and pharmaceutical companies. His experience also includes lecturing Food Science at an MSc level in the Dublin Institute of Technology and work with the leading quality retailer Superquinn.
Johnny Mills B Sc, Dip in Technology Law – Trainee Solicitor
Johnny, as a former Army Officer, has 22 years’ practical experience of leadership and management at the highest levels in the Defence Forces and through service both in Ireland and abroad he has developed and refined these skills. These experiences are complemented by high level training, education and continued professional development. Johnny’s range of experiences includes crisis management, intelligence gathering, threat analysis, dispute resolution, contingency planning, National Security Events and Special Forces Operations. Whilst completing his Solicitor training, within the firm Johnny specialises in the emerging areas of Data Law, Cyber Crime, Data Protection and IT Law.
